Research interests:

Academic background:

Christian has a strong academic and personal interest on East Asia, which he visited for private and academic purposes since the early-1990s. Using different modes of transport (bus, boat and bicycle) in exploring the region and its two sub-region, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, contributed in developing an interesting and valuable insight view of the region which also contributed to his academic work which focus on East Asia. He has also a specific interest on some of East Asia’s great rivers, like the Yellow River, the Chang Jiang (Yangtze) and the Mekong, which he also travelled extensively. From an academic perspective he as strong interest on China and Japan, on East Asia’s regional and sub-regional integration processes, environmental and climate change related impacts, and on East Asia’s International Relations ins general.
