As
a
student
is
arriving
in
Thailand
will
be
asked
for
a
Non-Immigration
Visa
“ED”
(Education)
application
at
the
Royal Thai Embassy or the Consular Office in overseas. The documents required by you to obtain include:
1.
A passport or travel document with at least 6-month validity from the planned date of arrival in Thailand
2.
A letter of acceptance to the faculty or academic institution.
3.
A completed Thai Visa Application form
4.
Two passport-sized photos (4x6 cm) taken within the last 6 months
5.
Application fee
6.
Other documents (if applicable)
Please
be
aware
that
when
you
enter
on
your
Non-Immigration
ED
Visa
for
the
first
time
you
will
be
granted
90-days
to
stay
in
Thailand.
This
will
be
valid
extension
3
months
up
to
12
months
when
you
make
your
first
90-day
notification,
and
you
must
first
complete
your
course
registration,
presenting
immigration
office
with
an
educational
institution
issued
letter
confirming
you
have
done
so.
You
will
then
have
to
continue
to
make
90-day
reports
thereafter.
Arrival/Departure Card
Upon arrival students will receive what is known as a
TM6 Arrival/Departure Card
.
This
card
is
essential
and
losing
it
will
likely
result
in
being
detained
upon
leaving,
to
be
clear
you
will
not
be
able
to
leave
if
you
lose
this
piece
of
paper.
Therefore
it
is
highly
suggested
that
the
students
staple
this
card
into
yours
passport,
possibly
on
a
blank
page.
This
card
will
be
taken
form
you
upon
departure.
If
you
will
apply
for
a
re-entry
permit, this card will be taken from you and upon coming back you will be given a new one.
Visa Extension
If
you
are
going
to
be
staying
in
Thailand
for
longer
than
90
days
you
will
need
to
go
through
the
process
of
a
visa
extension at the immigration office in person. The documents required include:
1.
Confirmation Letter Signed by the Dean (Ask the OIA.Polsci Office for this)
2.
Course Registration (login your username on the TU registrar website)
3.
Application Form TM7
4.
Photocopy of passport pages with following pages:
a.
Front page showing your full name/passport no. and other details
b.
Pages containing current visa and related informations
c.
Last entry stamp of immigration
d.
Last extension of visa (if you renew extension application)
5.
A 4x6 picture

Kindly
note
that
Dean
will
issue
the
confirmation
letter
when
foreign
student
presents
his/her
photocopies
of
passport, current visa, and
Visa Extension Request
as a designated form of the faculty to the OIA.Polsci Office.
90-day Notification
When
it
comes
to
staying
in
Thailand
students
are
required
to
report
yours
location
to
the
immigration
office
every
90
days,
this
process
is
called
“Notification
of
staying
in
the
Kingdom
over
90
days”
.
For
the
first
time
of
notification
you must go in person and submit the important documents as below.
1.
Photocopy of passport pages with following pages:
a.
Front pages showing main identification details
b.
Pages containing current visa and related informations
c.
Last entry stamp of immigration
d.
Last extension of visa
2.
Photocopy of departure card TM6 (The part that you should have stapled in your passport already)
3.
Completely filled in and signed notification form TM47

Please
note
that
if
a
foreigner
staying
in
the
kingdom
over
90
days
without
notifying
the
Immigration
Bureau
or
notifying
the
immigration
office
later
than
the
set
period,
a
fine
of
2,000
Baht
will
be
collected.
If
a
foreign
who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested and will be fined 4,000 Baht.
Leaving
You
are
able
to
leave
the
country
for
temporary
home
visits
or
holidays
without
losing
your
visa
in
Thailand.
To
do
this
you
must
apply
for
a
“Re-entry
Permit”
.
You
can
apply
for
one
single
trip
or
for
a
multiple
re-entry;
however
it
must
be
done
in-person
at
the
immigration
office
at
least
2
weeks
before
your
trip.

Photocopy of passport pages with following pages:
a.
Front page showing your details

Pages containing current visa and related information
c.
Last entry stamp of immigration
