Training and Seminars

                  In addition to research and teaching, the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University is always active in disseminating knowledge that is beneficial to the wider public. One important channel is through trainings and seminars. Each year, the Faculty hosts a number of such events, the majority of which are open to the public in order to fulfil the Faculty’s aim at offering its service to the society.

 

Seminar "I am Charlie?"


 

                    On 22nd January 2015, the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University hosted a seminar under the title “I am Charlie?: understanding the Charlie Hebdo phenomenon in France” to try explaining the cause, meaning and consequences from the event that killed editors of the French satirical weekly magazine, Charlie Hebdo, in central Paris. Over a hundred people attended the seminar before exchanging their views with the experts at the end of the event.

 

"Adaptation of cities for AEC (ASEAN Economic Community)" (28th August 2014)


 

                    On 28th August 2014, the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University hosted a knowledge exchange event under the title "Adaptation of cities for AEC" with the honour of Mom Rajawongse Sukumbhand Paripatra, the governor of Bangkok, as the guest lecturer. Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand stressed the need for Bangkok to adapt in order to keep up with the changes in the region and to maintain its capability as a capital city that is prepared in the social economy aspect.

 

"Direk’s Talk: Research & Success" (9th July 2014)


 

                    On 9th July 2014, Direk Jayanama Research Center hosted a seminar under the title "Research & Success" to give knowledge and inspiration to new generations of researchers with the honour of Professor Dr. Chairat Charoensin-o-larn, recipient of the national outstanding research award, as the guest lecturer.

 

"Traces of harmony under the shadow of conflict" (12th June 2014)


 

                    In commemoration of 65 years of the Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, the Faculty hosted a special seminar under the title "Traces of harmony under the shadow of conflict” with Prof. Dr. Chaiwat Satha-Anand, Head of the Faculty’s Government and Politics Department. The seminar was attended by more than 100 audiences and received wide attention from the press.

 

"Foreign policy on a global stage: To reform or not? How? For whom?" (25th April 2014)


 

                  The Faculty with the collaboration of Thammasat University hosted a seminar on "Foreign policy on a global stage: To reform or not? How? for whom?" on 25th April 2014 at Sri Burapha Auditorium with Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Associate Professor Dr. Chulacheeb Chinwanno and Professor Vitit Muntrabhorn as the panel experts. This seminar has gained wide attention from the university students, the public and the press.
