BMIR Programme

             The Combined Bachelor and Master of Political Science Program in Politics and International Relations (English Programme) is a new programme which aims to give a priority to high-quality education comparable to international standard. The Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University sees the importance of developing a taught program in English in the field of politics and international relations. The Programme integrates theoretical approaches with case studies, current issues as well as practical skills. It also gives a priority to a diverse range of academic questions essential to the field of politics and international relations.

 

Course Details


 

Academic term:

1st semester: August - December
2nd semester: January - May
Summer: June - July

Location:

Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, Tha-prachan Campus

Annual fees (approximately):

Thai undergraduate: 107,000 Baht
Foreign undergraduate: 126,000 Baht
Thai postgraduate: 99,000 Baht
Foreign postgraduate: 112,000 Baht

Duration:

5 years (complete programm)
3 years and half (only for the Bachelor Degree)
1 year and half (only for the Master Degree)

Teaching Method:

Lecture during the first years and then seminar class during the later years. The classes are designed to be small in order to facilitate discussion between the lecturers and the students. This is to enhance analytical skill and presentation skill.

Applicants residing in Thailand:

1. Relevant qualifications listed in Item 7 of the Thammasat University’s Bachelor Degree Regulations (1997).

2. School transcript (with minimum GPA 2.8 in Mathayom 4-5 or equivalent) and High School Diploma as authorized by Thailand's Ministry of Education or other assigned Government Agency or Students certificates from applicants' school (only for those who are presently be enrolled in their final year of high school or equivalent)

3. Specific requirements for each case are as follows:

- Applicants who studied abroad as exchange students, without grade report, are required to submit transcripts or certificates from both Thai and the host-country high schools.

- Applicants who have taken an M.6 equivalent test are expected to have:

- GED : a minimum score of 2800

- IGCSE : grade C at least 5 different subjects

4. One of the following English/ proficiency test results:

**No other test results are accepted**

- TOEFL: a minimum score of 500 on pBT/ 60 on iBT/ 170 on cBT

- IELTS: a minimum overall grade of 5.5

- TU-GET: a minimum score of 500

- CU-TEP: a minimum score of 500 (test taken during 2012), a minimum score of 60 (test taken in 2013 onwards)

- SAT: a minimum score of 50% on writing and critical reading

5. Applicants must pass both the WRITTEN EXAMINATION and INTERVIEW which will be conducted in English.

Applicants residing outside Thailand:

1. Relevant qualifications listed in Item 7 of the Thammasat University’s Bachelor Degree Regulations (1997).

2. School transcript (with minimum GPA 2.8 in Mathayom 4-5 or equivalent) and High School Diploma as authorized by Thailand's Ministry of Education or other assigned Government Agency or Students certificates from applicants' school (only for those who are presently be enrolled in their final year of high school or equivalent)

- Applicants with other educational systems could find a Grading System Conversion HERE!!.

- They must present the Certificate of Equivalency issued by Thailand's Ministry of Education. If not, They are suggested to take GED or IGCSE
