Ajarn Thomas has work experience with the U.S. Department of State, in offices in Washington, D.C., Spain and Thailand, focusing on issues related to threat reduction, U.S.-Spanish relations, and U.S.-Thai relations, respectively. Since 2014, he has lived in Thailand to live, work and study. After a stint teaching English, he spent time studying at Thammasat and working with the UN and U.S. Department of State in Bangkok.

Ajarn Thomas completed his undergraduate degree at Loyola University (Baltimore, Maryland), studying Political Science and Spanish (Literature and Linguistics), and received the Political Science Departmental Medal. As part of his undergraduate degree, he studied at Universidad de Alcalá (Alcalá de Henares, Spain) and Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires, Argentina). He completed graduate studies in International Relations at Thammasat.
Ajarn Thomas has presented research in Thailand, Japan and South Korea. His graduate research is entitled “Assessing Chinese Grand Strategic Adjustment Through the Lens of Neoclassical Realism: A Case Study on the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.” He has also contributed to publications of annual reports by the U.S. Department of State.
