Charlie’s research interests are in international relations, migration, human rights, and regional integration, with a developing focus on special economic zones. He has been based in Southeast Asia since 2011, serving as a social sciences tutor for civil society leaders from Myanmar since 2012, and has conducted research for Focus on the Global South, Save the Children, the International Labour Organisation, World Vision, Johns Hopkins University, and Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
